The bushing well is epoxy molded, and is externally damped for high-voltage circuits of pad-mounted transformers, substation transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment. It complies with IEEE/ANSI standards.

When paired with a load break bushing insert (threaded into the bushing well), it provides the same functionality as an integral load break bushing. The bushing well is designed for use with compatible cable accessories, such as bushing inserts and rotatable feed-through inserts.
